Ubisoft leans hard into roguelike structure here, as getting Joseph killed will lose all of his goodies - except for those the player has taken care to permanently unlock.
FAR CRY 6 DLC SERIES
The player must set out carefully into the landscape of Joseph's tortured psyche, slowly building up his powers through a series of events and trials. Like the other two villains before him, Joseph Seed wakes up in his own mind, torn and weak. The experiences are very, very similar to one another, but that doesn't make them any less fun. In a way, these three DLC titles can be thought of as one big roguelike getting better at one of them will make you better at all of them. The maps are different, the story beats vary, but the gameplay and progression are identical. Having spent extensive time with Vaas and Pagan's adventures, I knew exactly what to expect when sitting down to take on Joseph: Collapse. Far Cry 6’s Joseph Seed DLC will hopefully add further backstory to one of Far Cry’s most iconic villains.įar Cry 6 is available for PS4, PS5, PC, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.At this point, I can say it definitively - I am getting better at Far Cry 6's roguelike DLCs. The player will be taking on these demons in a roguelite fashion, collecting weapons and skills as they go, but being careful not to die as progress resets upon death. The significance of these demons is not yet clear although the Villains DLC packs do appear to be a part of these iconic villains reliving past moments, so it’s possible that these are demons from Joseph’s past. The trailer shows Joseph questioning whether he’s a part of a test or a dream before a demonic voice responds with “an opportunity.” The trailer then shows Joseph mowing down fire-spewing demons. It looks like the character of Joseph Seed will be further analysed in Far Cry 6’s Collapse DLC.
His complicated motivations make him fit the mould of a Far Cry villain well, while his story in Far Cry 5 is something many fans will be looking forward to revisiting. Far Cry 5’s Joseph Seed is definitely one of the more memorable villains in the Far Cry franchise. For fans of Far Cry 5 in particular, Collapse, starring Joseph Seed may be worth checking out. Next up is Rambo All the Blood, which features an unknown superfan rather than Sylvester Stallone, but it should still prove interesting to fans of Rambo as it is described as a “blood-soaked rampage straight out of an 80’s blockbuster.” The final DLC sees Dani Rojas tasked with rescuing Chorizo, Far Cry 6’s canine Amigo, from Stranger Things’ Upside Down.įar Cry 6 has a lot of post-launch content planned, but for Far Cry fans, the Villains DLC may be as good as it gets. The external crossovers, however, may be of interest to first time Far Cry players, as plenty of familiar properties will be making their way into the game.įirst up is Danny and Dani vs. This may appeal to long-term Far Cry fans in the same way the Villains DLC will, as Blood Dragon is well praised among Far Cry players. This has drawn much of the attention of Far Cry fans, but it is not the only DLC fans should be on the lookout for.Īlong with Far Cry 6’s villains DLC comes a remastered version of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, also available through the season pass.
It will include three missions based around past Far Cry villains, to be released over the coming few months. Unlike some of the other crossover content, Far Cry 6’s Villains DLC will be made available exclusively through the season pass. These DLC packs include a series of crossovers, both within the Far Cry franchise and externally, but possibly the most intriguing is Far Cry 6’s Villains DLC. Far Cry 6 will, over the course of its lifecycle, be releasing a lot of DLC that has already been announced.
